Amy (of quiche fame) came over for dinner tonight! It was my first time using a waffle-maker and it took one ruined batch to learn the trick of whole, removable waffles (“spray the hell out of it”), but we had plenty of batter and the end result was a beautiful meal followed by a Food Coma for the ages.
We used Mark Bittman’s “quick and easy” waffle recipe. For bacon-wrapped asparagus, just make the little bundles, put them on a foil-covered cookie sheet, and bake at 450F for about 15 minutes (I think; I just checked on them until they looked good).
Serve with mimosas, naturally.
